CODE OF ETHICS FOR SOPHROLOGISTS
This code of ethics is the common foundation for sophrologists who are members of the Chambre Syndicale de la Sophrologie.
It defines their commitments to the public, their clients and the profession.
This code of ethics guarantees the professional ethics of sophrologists.
Article 1
Sophrologists are committed to affirming equality between people and respecting their originality and dignity.
Article 2
Sophrologists undertake to prohibit any religious or ideological propaganda or proselytism within their offices or places of intervention. They undertake to fight against any sectarian excesses of which they may be witnesses.
Article 3
Sophrologists undertake to respect and protect the physical and psychological integrity of the people under their responsibility.
Article 4
Sophrologists undertake to respect the confidentiality of the information collected during their individual or group support.
Article 5
Sophrologists undertake to respect and ensure compliance with current legislation.
Article 6
Sophrologists are committed to regularly updating their knowledge and skills in order to meet public expectations and developments in sophrology.
Article 7
Sophrologists are committed to disseminating clear and understandable offers to the public. These offers must define the support methods, the objectives sought and the limits of sophrology.
Article 8
Sophrologists undertake not to disseminate information that could mislead the public or the media or harm the image of the profession.
Article 9
Sophrologists undertake to exercise their right of rectification with the media in order to contribute to the seriousness of the information communicated to the public on sophrology.
Article 10
Sophrologists undertake to respect the general concepts and principles of sophrology. They also undertake not to distort or amalgamate sophrology with other techniques without their clients being informed.
Article 11
Sophrologists undertake to respect the limits of their skills and to refer their clients to another professional when they require treatment or therapeutic assistance that is outside their area of expertise.
Article 12
Sophrologists undertake not to replace health professionals, not to provide diagnoses, medical prescriptions and not to interfere with ongoing medical treatments.
Article 13
Sophrologists undertake to maintain their professional ethics when they intervene under the authority of a company or organization.
Article 14
Sophrologists undertake, as far as possible, to offer a colleague to their clients when they are unable to provide their services.
Article 15
Sophrologists undertake to maintain fraternal relationships of respect and courtesy, honesty and good faith with other sophrologists.
Article 16
Any sophrologist who does not respect this code could be excluded from the Chambre Syndicale de Sophrologie.
